Cyrous is absolutely wonderful to speak to. He is extremely experienced in what he does, and whilst I was sceptical at first since it’s so daunting to make the decision of finding a therapist, I instantly started to realize he had the experience and knowledge to aid with my anger issues.

I found Ian a very calm and attentive therapist who let me explain my problems without being judgemental. He greatly helped me to overcome the issues affecting me and even got me to reflect on the possible perspectives, views and reasons of the other individuals, so much so, that I am now slowly rebuilding that relationship. Sometimes problems can escalate out of control and we don't individually always have the answers and Ian has certainly helped me to re-focus and put things into perspective.

Diana was there in my time of need. My professional life was spinning out of control and I didn't know where to turn as I had lost my confidence and couldn't even converse with colleagues in meetings. My negative thoughts were consuming.....I needed help. I only saw Diana for a few sessions but she put things into perspective and retrained my brain to allow me to go back in that meeting room with confidence. I'm still not the old me but I'm better after seeing Diana.

Ian was always attentive, a great listener with a lot of empathy and a person I found easy to communicate with. His ability to make me feel comfortable in therapy for the first time in my life (and I tried a lot before) made a life-changing difference to my progress. I do not believe I could have ever arrived at the safe place I am in now if it was not for Ian's continuous, patient support in therapy. I disclosed details of my life that I have never told anyone before to Ian and that, to me, is a sign that he made it easy for me to trust him. Highly recommend.

Nadia immediately made me feel comfortable and at ease; she had an aura of understanding and this helped me open up and discuss issues that were difficult for me to deal with. Nadia proved to be very patient, her words were calming and she gave me plenty of insights and ideas to think about that have helped incredibly. I went away after every session thinking about what had been discussed, and her advice has helped me shape my behavior in a far more positive way. Perhaps what helped me the most was knowing that we came from the same cultural background - this allowed me to express myself easily and I knew instinctively that she understood where I was coming from when I spoke about certain matters. It has been an eye opening experience, and I am very grateful for it.

Karole is very much a straight talker which i personally think is a great quality, she has a great sense of humour which makes the sessions with her enjoyable rather than intimidating and I often find myself laughing during sessions with her. She often relates things that you say to her own personal experiences which allows you to feel she understands you on a personal level and It is my opinion that she genuinely cares for each of her clients. I have found that Karole is extremely flexible with her sessions which means that she fits around your life extremely well. Karole also ensures that she always maintains confidentiality and professional boundaries, and she endeavours to remain professionally up to date and often attends additional courses. I would highly recommend Karole as a counsellor as I believe she has helped me move forward in my own life. I hope you come to enjoy your sessions with her as much as I do. It has undoubtably been the best money I have ever spent.

Sarah was very good at getting me to chat when I thought I had nothing to talk about, I thought she actually did care and it was not just a job. Sarah was keen to solve and unscramble my feelings, Sarah made me feel comfortable just like talking to a good friend. Sarah was able to take in and use what I had said to bring out my inner thoughts over several weeks. I did find that I did most of the talking but she was taking in everything I was saying and using this information to get me to open up and unscramble my most inner thoughts which I thank her for. Attentive, engaging, relaxing (effect) and comfortable are the words that spring to mind when Sarah is thought of. I found Sarah to have a very good way of presenting an alternative perspective and monitoring the responses etc, found that very educational (self education) and thought provoking; too easy not to see the perspective you're ignoring or avoiding! Best weapon in her arsenal - certainly when she knew me - was "why?"... great question! In short, I took great benefit from my sessions with Sarah to the point that, as wished for, my world is a better place and am even considering going back to see her simply because with Sarah, I get good argument and perspective, doesn't hurt to utilise those opportunities when possible. I have to say that I am a lot more comfortable with myself and enjoy more now I have - with Sarah's assistance - been able to relinquish quite a large amount of rubbish! Thank you, Alan.

Katrina is kind, calm, patient, non judgemental and has helped me enormously over the time she was counselling me. She was always there when I needed her offering me support and guiding me through one of those most difficult periods of my life. I have managed to move on from the loss and loneliness I felt after the death of my husband. I know she is always there for me if ever I need her in the future and that alone helps me on a day to day basis. Even on my initial contact with her she recognised how much I needed help and called me to arrange to see me organising a session for me within a couple of days. That was so important to me and I had reached an all time low at their point. I would highly recommend her to anyone who needs bereavement counselling.

Meeting Sarv has undoubtedly changed the course of my life immeasurably. I sought her help after a split up with a really fantastic girl. I was in a terrible situation from which I saw very little light at the end of the tunnel. With Sarv's advice and help in utilising the exercises developed within CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) - I saved a previously doomed relationship, changed my business and have gained back control of my life completely. I have used her methods to improve relationships from all different spheres of my social circle and I am closer with everyone around me. I have never been so happy. Katrina puts you at easy immediately and the counselling room was warm and inviting which makes all the difference. The theraputic relationship was almost instant! She used an integrative approach, which meant we never got stuck in a rut as she used techniques which suited me, and since I have had a few different therapy approaches hers was certainly the best. As now a counselling student I was possibly more aware of how she was as a therapist than someone who has no theoretical knowledge of counselling, she was also very accommodating of my variations in times for sessions as I could not make the same times weekly and put no pressure on me to stick rigidly for this would of hindered therapy. In short she was a refreshing relief from the counsellors I have had and really helped me make massive gains, a true professional and genuine counsellor. The gains I made have truly changed my life for the better and she achieved this with me.

As a foreigner my biggest fear was of not being understood when it comes to express my feelings and emotions. I was very lucky to have Chris as a therapist because since the first moment I met him I immediately felt very comfortable and at easy and above all I had the feeling that I didn't need to say much for him to understand me. I never felt disappointed or for once had the feeling that Chris was not very interested in helping me. On the contrary, I always felt that in some way he really could feel and was in tune with my feelings and being so the sessions were always a success. Whilst in London, even living far way from his office, I went back to therapy with Chris a couple of times because I really trusted in him as the therapist to whom I could talk, reveal my deepest problems, traumas and fears, and I knew that he would put his heart on the problem to help me and to look at life and problems from a happier. Every single day I use his techniques and kind words to get me through life.

She listens to you but also asks questions to help give you perspective on a situation. She made me feel at ease with myself and was able to identify the areas that I wanted to work on when I was unable to see those areas myself. She allowed me to work and evolve at my own pace and does not expect or set out a strict time line as some do. I had my first counselling/therapy experience with Ameera who put me at ease instantly and was very easy to talk to. She approached the sessions with a clear view of what I wanted to achieve, which was reviewed regularly to ensure we were working towards my aims and looking at how we could change or improve anything to help me achieve my goals. Ameera was excellent at providing me with useful techniques to use in everyday situations, so that I wasn't solely reliant on our weekly/fortnightly sessions, but could become self-sufficient. Ameera was versatile in her methods and worked to see which methods worked best for me during our sessions. The benefits I have gained from our sessions have been significant and feel I am able to put into practice techniques Ameera has helped me to learn. As a benefit of our sessions, my mindset has changed for the better and I am able to manage situations from a more positive standpoint that I had not been able to do in years. We are 2.5. months into our sessions and look forward to the benefits to be gained from further sessions.

I had needed advise on some personal issues and how to deal with certain feelings which I was victim to and couldn't even understand. Clive was very helpful and talking to him was very useful. He dealt with me as an individual rather than as a patient taking into account my own personal needs and helping and advising me with them. It was a very relaxing experience to talk to him and he created a home-like environment. This was something I had essentially required to change my life and mindset at the time and the many fears and anxieties I was prone to and he provided this to me so that I could find the courage to open up and talk to him. I am very grateful to Clive for helping me pass through the most difficult phase of my life until now and am most certain in the future as well for only I know how emotionally exahausting those days had been. Julie is kind and attentive - she's very easy to talk to and is able to give me explanations for things that have happened and how I'm feeling (this is very effective for me). I feel like she really understands me, which is so reassuring because for a long time I felt like no one did. She's taken the time to get to know me as a person, and not just another patient, and I feel we now have a strong bond. She then used this knowledge to help me understand myself as a person which has been so important in my recovery. Nothing is too much trouble for her and she's been truly brilliant - I would definitely not be where I am now without her help.

After having countless introductory sessions with other therapists, Celia was the first who appeared as though she was comfortable with the spectrum of emotions that can come within the therapy process and the first that treated me as though I was a person with an illness rather than just an embodiment of the illness itself. She is warm and understanding and I found her easy to talk to about what was troubling me - not an easy feat! Her teaching of Transactional Analysis has proved incredibly helpful in allowing me to take control of situations where I would otherwise feel too anxious or put down to get my point across, and her generosity in providing extra literature (self help books, breathing exercises, etc) has proved invaluable to my improvement. Her style enables you to assess your actions as well as your thoughts, helping to break out of certain relationship cycles etc, allowing you to be active in your own therapy. I would thoroughly recommend Celia to somebody struggling with depression and anxiety.

An intelligent man who was prepared to listen and interject only when he felt it was necessary. On the one or two occasions that we deviated from our principle discourse he recognised this, and we both acknowledged its irrelevance. He was particularly interested in R. Harris's 'The Happiness Trap' as a text for our sessions; which I found useful, if with some significant reservations that he accepted. My time with him confirmed my regret that my relationship with my mother was not as supportive as it might have been, and that my time at boarding school was damaging. He was especially acute in rejecting my self-diagnosis of a high-functioning Asperger's syndrome. His suggestion of an addictive personality (I am drinking cognac as I write this) is probably fair; though probably also manageable, considering my advanced age. All in all, a valuable experience.

Ian is an absolute pleasure to speak to. So professional, calming and someone who can be opened up to immediately. He offers support and allows discussion that can help with problems. Ian allows you to lead the conversation without interruption and then offers some clarity. I met with David at an incredibly low point in my life - anxiety and an eating disorder kept me off work for several months. It wasn't easy to confide with someone but David had a way of making me feel at ease and never judged. Our time together was crucial in getting me to face some of the issues causing my anxiety and to talk through solutions. At all times I felt valued, listened to and supported. Some of the issues we discussed were intensely personal and painful - yet the benefits of them slowly being teased out were key to starting the process of healing. I would have no hesitation in recommending David to any person out there feeling lost, helpless of defeated. I rate Olivia as one of the best therapists I have had support from. Firstly, as a therapist, she is not one to hurry you out of the door after 50 minutes, if a couple of minutes more are needed she is more than willing... A very caring aspect that I appreciate. Secondly, I have always found her very easy to contact by email or phone, to either arrange or rearrange a new session. Finally, I have found her very easy to open up to about my problems and find myself feeling very comfortable around her!

Jay is an empathetic, attentive and thoughtful therapist. She's a very good listener who takes in all that's been said, remembers the pertinent details, and shows she's completely present when sharing time with you. She patiently helped me make sense of my troubles and develop my own understanding of how/why they were important to me. In initial sessions, I was sceptical, defensive and distanced due to previous experiences with other therapists, but her calm, kind approach allowed me to develop a deep trust and gave me the space and freedom to safely explore sensitive issues. I have to say that it's at the most sensitive times that I felt her complete support and care. Her thorough understanding of her practice and intelligent application has also helped me develop self-awareness techniques so that I have a set of tools to support myself with, when I need. Above all, I believe she is a therapist who genuinely cares for my health and happiness.

Sarah listened but also talked which was great as I was worried I would do all the talking. She understood why I was having problems, and interpreted my feelings. She also allowed me to "forgive myself", and not be too hard, which in turn stopped me feeling so disheartened. She gave of herself as well, which really helped. I felt she was a fellow human being with her own problems, rather than a faceless professional. If I need help again I would certainly turn to Sarah.

I had therapy with Kina to attempt to address long-term depression and nightmares. I had tens of sessions over more than a year. Kina was skilled in measuring what kind of approach to an issue - more gentle or more direct - would be most helpful for me at different times. Kina was very good at observing my physical responses during our discussions and using those responses to explore my underlying emotions. Kina has a wealth of psychological knowledge and insight at her fingertips, so I felt very much in safe hands. I would strongly recommend Kina as a therapist. During the period in which I was having therapy, I became more confident, less depressed, and more able to cope and happy than I had ever been before, and I have remained that way since. I feel she really helped me develop in myself. I finished treatment with Kina over a year ago, but it's really good to know that she's there to return to if something crops up.

I first came to Ameera after a long period of chronic stress which was becoming increasingly difficult to deal with on a daily basis. From the first meeting that I had with Ameera and explaining some of the issues that I was experiencing she put me at ease and I felt confident that she would be able to help me. Using various methods and techniques I have increasingly felt that I have the tools that I need to change the way I see situations and people and this improves on a weekly basis. I find Ameera very easy to talk to about any subject or worry and I don't think I have left one of my sessions without a smile on my face or having laughed at least once. I look forward to my sessions and I'm excited about the further improvements i will be making with Ameera's help.

Corina is kind, compassionate, and a good listener. I felt at ease with her from around the time of my second session. I think that she was a good judge of my character, and of my issues: she would spend a good time of every session simply listening to my problems, but she would also interject when she felt that she could offer a different perspective. I thought that the methods that Corina encouraged me to practise were compatible with my general way of thinking, which is quite structured; I also like to write. She was also good at gently challenging me: for instance, when I struggled to be more spontaneous, she suggested I 'set aside' time in which to act impulsively, which I found was difficult but ultimately helped me.

Most importantly Robin is kind. He has a natural affinity with people and he clearly cares about what he does and his patients. Robin listens, supports and advises if appropriate and his guidance provided me with a solid sounding-board which allowed me to work through the things I needed to. Robin is well-read and experienced at what he does and to this he adds a human approach of kindness which allows you to feel very supported. I really felt that Robin cared about helping me and it was important to him that I felt better. Theo listens to you so he can read and analyse your feelings. He breaks down a structure that is easy for someone to comprehend by starting from the root. He compliments you when you are succeeding and reminds you about the positive things you should be concentrating on for yourself. He is honest and also keeps things basic and real as well. Each session you walk away with new analogies and methods to think about, which will help you gain control of your mind. Sometimes these methods work and sometimes they don't, which means he will think of another psychological strategy to help you find life easier in the next session. He does not judge you for your past or who you are, and he himself seems like he has nothing to hide which makes you feel more safe.

I went to see Karole as a fear of flying had escalated, and I needed help to enable me to go on a holiday I had booked. I had been advised to try CBT. Karole made me feel very comfortable, relaxed and very reassured in the fact that I had made a very positive move in seeking help. Through Karole I was able to gain quick access to CBT, was given exercises to practice and tools to help me. I found my therapy sessions a very positive and enjoyable experience, and after 5 sessions was able to face flying to go on a holiday! The fact that Karole offered evening and weekend sessions was very helpful in fitting therapy in around a full time job. I would highly recommend Karole.

Beryll made me feel normal, which when I first went to see her I did not feel. Her manner was relaxed and this made me able to express my feelings and fears, because of this and with her encouragement I was able to explore the real me. What I thought were my negatives and positives (at the beginning I thought I did not have any positives) - as each session progressed I became more confident in myself as a person and comfortable with who I was. This has enabled me to express my true feelings about a situation and not what I thought other people wanted to hear from me, which makes me feel true to myself. Kay has a very calm personality and was non judgemental in our discussions. She prompted me to think differently, about areas that I wouldn't have previously considered, to help me better understand possible root cause of my issues. I found Kay to be very relatable and easy to talk to, and I never felt awkward to discuss any issue. Kay generally ended a session giving me something to consider, which helped me to rationalise some of the discussion points and enabled me to better understand why I felt as I did which, in turn, helped with my understanding and acceptance of my feelings.

David's work was extremely difficult in this case. Lots of baggage and no clear way forward. On a positive note, many issues were aired and some lines of 'good' communication were opened. Pressure of work forced an early end to the process but it must be hoped that the counselling has improved chances of a better future.

Marga has been my therapist for almost a year now. She has managed to help me in a way that no other professional has helped me in the past. She is very honest from the beginning of therapy about what you are dealing with. She was open to not using medication when we first met and reassessing the situation as the therapy progressed. She patiently waits for you to understand what are the main issues in your life are and how you wish to face them. She is not judgmental and supports all your thoughts and feelings. When I first contacted Emma I was very low. Over the course of our sessions Emma guided me to a point where I was comfortable to face feelings I had pushed aside and not dealt with. I felt very comfortable talking to Emma and felt I could say things I could not say to friends and family. Emma is a great listener, not judgmental and approaches difficult subjects professionally but kindly and openly and was very aware of my well being. I can honestly say I feel better now than I have done for a very long time. My anxiety is no longer limiting me, I sleep better and do not wake up with panic attacks. I no longer dwell and have reduced negative thought patterns. At times when I needed extra support Emma saw me and supported me. I am in a much better place as a direct result of my sessions with Emma.

Mary is kind and calm and very astute. She easily got to the route of the problems I was having in a couple of close relationships and gave me the space and time to work things out in my own head, whilst keeping me on track with what my problems were. It wasn't always comfortable for me as I needed to change, but it was necessary and has been brilliant and I never felt alone during the transitional period. I cannot recommend her more highly.

In a nutshell, Sue is just brilliant! She really listens, and remembers things that I have discussed some time ago, so we always have very rounded discussions. I love that she not only listens, but gives excellent insight into theories, and how she views it (in a non-judgemental way). She often offers further reading, which is very helpful. Jo instantly put me at ease from the first conversation over the phone and continued to do so throughout all sessions. She is always professional and friendly. Jo clearly has a wide variety of practical skills and techniques which sets her apart from previous counsellors I have seen. She allowed me to open up and explore difficult parts from my past and I never felt like I was being judged. I was given weekly tasks to complete which really helped me to re-discover my shattered self confidence. She has given me a good set of skills to handle the struggles of everyday life and how to handle emotions from my past when they arise again. Apart from the obvious therapist qualities of integrity, intuition and empathy, Abigail was honest and persistent. It was hard work at times, but worth it. Mostly I enjoyed the sessions though! And critically, it worked. I believe I overcame my problems, no-one else fixed them - and I'm very happy now - but Abigail made a huge difference. She counselled me when in crisis and supported me as I (finally!) worked things out. I highly recommend her.

Nicky is very easy to get along with and I feel I can approach her on all my issues from my past and the present. I feel valued at the sessions and I have noticed the changes in me happening, giving me more control and confidence in my life and slowly being able to deal with situations better than I did in the past. I recommend Nicky to all, although the choice would be down to you as an individual to see if Nicky makes you feel comfortable and you feel confident enough to have therapy and continue with her, but I have no issues with her therapy and she is just a blessing at this moment in my life.

I was in therapy once before but it didn't work for me. With my current therapist Angelika Vraka I feel free to be myself, I feel accepted for who I am. So far she helped me to recognise patterns I have that are blocking me from leading a more satisfying life. I am working slowly to change them. I feel very light and positive when I leave my session. My experience so far has been extremely positive and hopefully life changing. There are very few DBT therapists and I feel fortunate to have found such an excellent one. Lindsay's approach is professional yet person centred. Her expertise and knowledge are exceptional and I really feel as if she is making a difference. I was very nervous making my first appointment but Lindsay was more than willing to discuss my needs and expectations and I feel as if we are now working together on a way forward. Lindsay is an excellent listener and a highly effective communicator. I always come away from sessions with a clear understanding of what we have done and what I now need to do. I found my sessions with Pauline most helpful, with her sensitive and gentle ways of enabling me to clear some of the clutter in my mind, by talking through them. I have only met Helen twice so far and was very unsure if I was doing the right thing, it is not easy admitting you have a problem and can't cope with life. Frustrated by the lack of support from my GP I am glad that I found this site and met Helen. I feel comfortable and at ease in her presence which has made it easy to talk to her. She has really listened to me and is now helping me understand and deal with my problems. For me personally finding someone who I feel safe and comfortable with was important, but also peace of mind that the person I was talking to is qualified to help me.

I appreciated Rachael's calmness amongst my internal storm. It's fair to say I did most of the talking which is unusual for me - and it was strange but liberating not to be interrupted. Rachael's questions were few but very poignant and the sessions went deeper than I initially intended - but I felt very safe in doing so and at my own choice. Each session was powerful for me emotionally and I spent a lot of time reflecting between sessions including using 'homework' ideas that Rachael suggested. Sometimes the reflections were poignant - sometimes I let them go - there was no pressure from Rachael to complete the homework. I left the sessions with some useful tools and techniques that I still use and I can honestly say I am in such a completely different place now than I was when I first turned up. However, I do have the comfort of knowing that if I need a little help to see things more clearly Rachael would be my first port of call. I can't recommend her as a therapist highly enough. Rachael's qualities include: calm, a great listener, thoughtful questioning, creating a safe environment, intuitive, brave, and great resources.

Dawn is very approachable and I felt comfortable talking with her. She helped me identify triggers to my addictive behaviour and break a long standing cycle of negative experiences and thoughts. I would not hesitate to go back to her again if I felt I needed to and would not see it as a failure but as a guide to the next phase of my life.

My partner and I got issues and Marilyn comes over so neutral and you don't feel she is judging you no matter what. I didn't really believe that therapy was going to help me, having tried a number of times with other therapists over the years I had become convinced that it would not work for me. I got to a place of desperation and found again that the advice from the Dr was to talk to someone. I signed up to a first session with Karen convinced that I would have nothing to say and hate every moment. But I was wrong, it was the total opposite. I totally underestimated the power of a TrueType great therapist. Karen is helping me to turn my life around, and I think that is the really important thing; she helps ME to do it, she is not doing it for me. I think Karen might be one of the most important people I meet in my life and already I feel so grateful for the time we have worked together. Everyone would benefit from a Karen in their lives. We started with TA to help me manage my everyday stuff and now moving into counselling to help me deal with a bereavement.

I came to Carole after the sudden suicide of a dear friend. The first thing she asked me to do was to tell her about him. From then on each question and conversation was exactly what I needed to hear and think through. I left every session feeling so refreshed and capable of processing my complex emotions. I felt like Carole was always on the same page as me and able to understand and work through my thoughts and concerns as thoughtfully and accurately as possible. Tony really listens. He really hears what you are saying and feeling. He guides and encourages. He knows when to back off too! Tony takes the time to get to know you, he notices when things aren't right or you've had a bad week. It becomes easy to let down the public facade and tell it like it is, deep inside. My partner and I entered into relationship counselling with Penny, we found her approach professional, friendly, kind and extremely helpful. Penny has given us the tools to continue working through our issues and we are now able to understand each other as never before. I was in a really bad place like anyone visiting a therapist is. Very depressed, stressed, relationship problems etc. I found Penny through your website and was not disappointed, she was so easy to talk to I just let everything out. She listened without judgment and we broke things down into sections and looked at why I was thinking/behaving as I was (this was clearly the problem) she helped me rethink how I deal with things. Amazing! She also did diagrams, (used stones my favourite bit, I could so relate to this). I feel so much better, clearer, stronger and most of all HAPPY. Upon arriving I pretty much was on the verge of a nervous breakdown, in tears, she calmed me down and over the following months has changed my perspective on life. She's extremely easy to talk to, and not judgemental even when I failed at things. She's helped me work with people better and become a better person in myself too. I have so far to go in coming to terms with my mother passing but I know that throughout that, she'll be there for me. Previously I hated therapists, they weren't good, I found them obnoxious and unreliable. Karen has completely changed my perspective on that, although I'd not want someone else. We've covered self-esteem issues, aggression issues and so much more. I know by the end of this I'll be balanced and able to deal with anything. I look forward to seeing her every time, twice a week isn't enough, I'd love to see her more. If you need someone who cares, Karen is the person you want to see. I feel valued by her as a person. It's like I'm a rough rock, being polished into a diamond. Thanks Karen! You're great.

During my therapy sessions with Patricia I have found her to be kind, understanding, supportive and professional. She has a manner that puts you at ease and creates an environment of mutual respect. You have a sense that you are sharing with someone who is highly trained, experienced and passionate about the work that she does. Through the carefully structured reading, learning, reflection, and discussion I have recognised how my emotional behaviour has developed throughout my life and how I might adapt my responses and reactions going forward. Therapy isn't easy, it can be painful and hard work, but committing to working hard on yourself with the help of an experienced guide such as Patricia can bring with it relief and rewards; it's not all hard graft, we have enjoyed a fair few moments of laughter in the mix. Patricia's positive attitude to life is evident and when you are ready to realise it, infectious. Therapy with Patricia has given me focus at a particularly difficult time and equipped me with the tools to navigate life with more positivity and kindness to myself. I can't recommend her highly enough.

Being an introvert I find it difficult to warm and trust individuals initially. However Patricia very soon put me at ease. Even as someone with feelings of low self-worth/value, I never felt belittled or judged by Patricia, only warmth and encouragement. After 5 sessions with Emma I decided that the time was right for me to move on and to focus on looking forward. Prior to meeting Emma I had been affected by a significant family trauma that I had been trying to cope with by myself. After 6 months it became clear to me that I needed help and so I reached out to Emma. Easy to engage with, Emma really helped me over the weeks that I saw her and I'm sure without her support, guidance and gentle challenges that I wouldn't have moved forward in such a positive way. Through both the session work and areas she gave me to think about in the week I have slowly re-pieced my life together and challenged some of the ways I managed things. I feel good about myself and life and feel lighter and more positive than I have for a long time. Emma has been positive, gently challenging and empathetic. John's ability to reason with my emotions was exceptional, he was able to logically explain what I was going through from a psychological perspective, when I wasn't 100% sure myself. He gave me good advice, he taught me how to cope with my depression, gradually, as each week went on, I found as long as I followed his excellent advice, I'd begin to feel better than the week before. I can now honestly say, thanks to everything that John has helped me with, I've never felt better, I owe this man a great thanks for all the help he has given me. I had not had any prior experience before I started talking to Pat and she was able to immediately put me at ease. She is also patient and a good listener. Pat also made me feel like I was in control at all times as to where the conversation was going and she encouraged me to talk rather than lead the conversations. Flexibility is another quality that Pat showed as there were occasions sometimes at short notice when work or other commitments led to me having to reschedule or even cancel sessions, and she would always where possible try to accommodate me in that regard. There were occasions when I would vocalise my feelings or thoughts and I did not hold back and I felt that Pat's ability to listen and put me at ease was very useful. After some time I started to feel that I was developing a greater awareness and starting to almost learn to help myself and Pat always encouraged this. We also regularly discussed whether the therapy was meeting my needs and Pat was always happy to review where things had not been working.

I initially left a message for Julie to get help with the loss of my Dad, as I was really struggling to cope and it was massively impacting on my life. Julie then phoned me back and it was clear from the start that she was supportive, knowledgeable and truly understood the issues I was going through. We arranged a first session and it was clear that Julie was very insightful, not only about the process I was going through, but also the way in which my personality and drivers were impacting on my ability to cope. This insight meant that she adapted her approach specifically to my needs rather than use the standard practices that would generally be used to deal with bereavement. This was essential to my progress because I would not have progressed as well, if Julie hadn't spotted quickly that I needed a different form of counselling. I'm continuing counselling sessions with her now to explore some issues that arose during my bereavement counselling. I started seeing Louise about a range of complex issues having previously been sceptical about attending counselling. However, her completely non-judgemental and holistic approach was exactly what I needed and I instantly felt comfortable to open up to her completely honestly about things I have never spoken to anyone about before. Louise gave me the freedom to use the sessions according to how I felt and my needs, but her sensitive and thoughtful input was instrumental in enabling me to open up and discuss things I had not discussed with anyone previously. Talking to Courtenay was a pleasure as he seemed genuinely interested in the discussions and he was often able to give me insightful new points of view on the matter. He has been able to convey important messages without however pushing me to follow them. I think more importantly, he was able to communicate with me on an emotional level. I have just finished seeing Marga for an anxiety condition that had been dogging me for a few years. I saw two CBT therapists before Marga, before making my mind up that she was the one I felt most at ease with. From my first session she was lovely, very easy for me to unload what was on my mind, she never judged me and gave me some really good advice going forward. They say time is a healer and I spent a year and a half in CBT and genuinely feel with time and a good counsellor I have come out the other end. I feel happy with little to no anxiety and I certainly don't need medication any longer. Extremely good at teaching you techniques on how to deal with your emotions and also being aware of your triggers. Rachel also makes you aware that you are not always going to get it right and that its ok that its not always going to be a smooth ride. Rachel is very supportive and very good at explaining reasons why you may feel the way you do, working together to help get a clearer picture in your head on how to move forward. I would most definitely recommend Rachel to anyone that has ongoing problems. I have suffered with periodic bouts of severe depression for many years in spite of seeing other well qualified therapists. When I first met Ann Marie Terry I was again finding everyday life a struggle and was in danger of slipping back into a bad depressive episode, but did not want to go back onto medication. Ann Marie brought her years of experience, infinite patience and understanding to help me both understand the origins of my depression and develop tools that would enable me to manage it with a view to avoiding the onset of future serious episodes. Thanks to Ann Marie I have completed and attained my degree, something that I thought was impossible. Rebekah instantly put me at ease, which allowed me to talk openly about my ongoing anxiety issues. After a thorough discussion, we agreed on a range of 'behavioural experiments' which mainly consisted of travel and being away from my 'safe places'. I was really pleased with Bhavna and would definitely recommend her. My reason for contacting her was due to the psychological effects of going through chemotherapy as this was confounding my emotional instability (borderline personality disorder) - Bhavna was able to get me back on track with my treatment and coached me through to the end so that I attended all sessions; I don't think I would have been able to do this on my own. These sessions were my first experience of any kind of counselling or therapy, and I found Wilhelmina (Marga) to be very warm, understanding and supportive from the start. My main issues were around anxiety, depression and low self-esteem (which had been an issue throughout my life) but the breakdown of a long term relationship had made these issues significantly worse and in need to find some form of help. Marga was fantastic, and through a mix of CBT, a focus on compassion and counselling (and also an adoption of mindfulness) the 8 months of sessions helped me establish coping mechanisms, and ultimately start to understand myself and my issues - resulting in feeling that I am in more control of my issues (and better equipped to identify when my anxiety levels are rising, and therefore do something about it). She very much made me feel at ease throughout those 8 months, and as a result I am happy to say I feel in a much better place. I would highly recommend Marga.

Gaynor listens and gives neutral advice. She does not "take sides" and helps you work through your own thoughts and feelings without telling you what is either right or wrong. I found her easy to talk and listen to. She helped me to rationalise the negative issues I was having about my relationship. I did not realise how much my past had impacted my current life and attitudes. At our last meeting I was ready to move on as I no longer felt the same way as I did. Before working with Cristina, I was diagnosed with long-standing chronic fatigue. My GP recommended I find a psychologist to address the emotional difficulties leading to physical exhaustion. I had been through the NHS fatigue clinic services which were extremely helpful, but limited in availability. I had no hesitation meeting Cristina, and she was prompt in her responses. After our trial session I felt sufficiently seen, heard and comfortable to continue. She is available, usefully, both via Skype and in person (with her cat). The main outcome for me so far has been a deep settling into myself, leading to big steps forwards in many parts of my life and, crucially, less fatigue. I wasn't expecting a therapist to be so committed to the mind-body connection. It was a relief to find someone who wanted to work with me on that basis. I would suggest Cristina's services to anyone ready to move forward from stuckness and unhealthy cycles. Her work would be less helpful to someone with no interest in making shifts and changes in their life. I would certainly recommend working with Cristina. I continue to be impressed by the evident depth of her knowledge and understanding, humour and directness.

Peter is an experienced therapist who really cares about his clients and is committed to this vocation. My partner and I were stuck in an unhappy and distant relationship. Peter skilfully supported both of us without taking sides or blaming. He patiently taught us both to identify and communicate our feelings in healthier ways. In the beginning sessions were difficult and painful but after a few months our relationship had improved dramatically. Then I discovered that my partner was addicted to internet porn. Peter handled this with such sensitivity that for the first time my partner was able to talk about experiences he was very ashamed of and had kept secret all his life. I saw Patricia following a lot of complex problems including bereavement, family estrangement and serious illness of a loved one, which had resulted in quite severe depression and anxiety. Janet is perceptive and non-judgmental. This meant that I could talk to her honestly about difficult feelings and subjects. Janet was clear in her explanations, enabling me, for example, to understand the difference between worries and anxiety and to learn the tools to manage some worries and eliminate others. There was a clear plan to the work we undertook, with goals set and then regular reviews of those goals and resetting as necessary. For me this meant that I made steady, incremental progress overall. A fantastic listener. I went in, believing my issues were a combination of stress, anxiety and maybe depression. It's sometimes hard to label it. She allowed me to talk and explain my situation, picking up on subtle things I said which we explored more. Sometimes it went nowhere but then sometimes we veered off for a good 20-30 minutes. It helped me unlock things in my head and acknowledge them as feelings/emotions, which allowed me to process and deal with them. At every session (bar the first) Maria had some tips and tricks she would print off, which helped me to remain calm and positive in the time between sessions. She gave me a short book one week, to assist with my issues. Overall she is very easy to talk to, very calming and made me feel very good about myself whenever I left a session. I recommend Maria so much, even if her 'specialist' area might not seem right for you, reach out to her, because if she isn't right for you, she will tell you this as well. She is there to help people and certainly helped me. 5 stars literally isn't enough. She is the best!

Therapy is only effective if you feel empowered to bare your soul to your therapist. Emma put me at ease immediately, empowering me to be completely honest. Emma is thoughtful and perceptive. She goes to great lengths to understand the context of an issue, asking thoughtful questions in the process, rather than leaping to generic remedies. Therapy is not a silver bullet. At best it can open your eyes to an alternative way of thinking about your issues and negative thoughts. Emma is brilliantly qualified to help you do that. I'd recommend her to anyone.

From the outset, Diane made me feel completely at ease and immediately I felt I could be totally open and honest with her. She is calm and has a warm nature which made it impossible for me to not give my all to every session with her. Diane has made a real impact on my life and I cannot recommend her highly enough. I sought counselling after suffering a bereavement - my wife of 30 years had died recently at the age of just 56. At the outset I was encouraged to think about what I wanted from the counselling and soon identified coming to terms with my grief and finding a positive outlook on life to move forward. Thanks to our counselling sessions I now feel positive about life and understand the nature of my grief and the part it plays in my life. Margaret managed the counselling relationship with extreme sensitivity and professionalism from the outset and to the end. At no point did I feel our sessions were being controlled or contrived and I was able to offload and lead our discussions in new directions as I needed. If I ever felt a session had achieved little I always noticed some days later the actual benefit was there. All in all my counselling experience was like a journey through the seasons - starting in a bleak winter time, progressing through a more hopeful spring and finally concluding with the warmth of summer and for me a renewed confidence, a positive outlook and being better able to live with my grief.

Diane helped me realise that what I was going through was normal and it was ok to ask for help, her office was homely and inviting, not clinical like I was expecting. The tools I've gained will help with day to day issues, as well as the big issues I need to process. Having the knowledge of how the brain works and how to change my thinking so it can work properly, has made processing any obstacles that come up easier. During my sessions with Diane, I've gained confidence to do things I never would have, I've learned to love myself, know my worth, and what I deserve in life. It was like talking to a friend, I cried at times, but also laughed, I felt at home, and without therapy I don't know where I would be.

One of my favourite qualities Malvinder possesses is that she has very clear boundaries and in that sense you always know the relationship you have is from client to therapist. Finding it really useful doing one to one DBT skills with Dr Thompson. Am visually impaired and appreciate her allowing my guide dog to accompany me to sessions and Dr Thompson emailing me reading materials rather than giving me printed copies so I can access them using specialist magnification software. Dr Thompson is easy to talk to but will also challenge my thoughts and behaviour when necessary. A good balance. Finding the funds for sessions has sometimes been hard for me meaning the frequency of my requests for sessions fluctuate and Dr Thompson has been sympathetic and accommodated this. Dr Thompson has helped me set up Skype on my phone. Hoping to use this for our next session so I don’t have to travel to and from the session by public transport - this will help me avoid a lengthy journey and travel costs. I really recommend this Psychologist.

It's obviously vital that a therapist and client are on a similar wave length and for that I felt Billi was adaptable and most competent. Our sessions varied and Billi certainly made me think of certain problems in another way where it was positive to see things from another angle and perspective. Billi is also the very first therapist that I've used and I feel that she is extremely good at her job, and I would certainly recommend her services to anyone seeking help for the first time or even having used a previous therapist where it did not quite work out. I feel the professional relationship between a therapist and client is most personal and Billi certainly provides a first class service.

I initially went to therapy without really knowing what in particular I wanted to focus on but knew that I needed help in refocusing my life in general. Jacqui patiently “sat with me” in my feelings allowing me to just talk my confusion out loud in order to find solutions. By week 5 and after several very tearful sessions, I had my “breakthrough” session when the root cause of all of my sadness became clear. Jacqui’s skill in listening and asking the right questions coupled with her ability to reflect back what she observed in my body language or things I had said, although hard to hear at times allowed me to unpack my “stuff”. Feeling safe in my vulnerability with Jacqui allowed me to truly face my pain and therefore deal with the things in my life and myself that I can now change, alter and/or manage. I am eternally grateful to Jacqui for her professionalism and due to my time with her I am forever changed and would therefore highly recommend her as a therapist.

I spent a couple of months with Jo as I really struggled with anxiety and self esteem. I immediately felt so comfortable speaking with Jo. She didn’t pressure me into focusing on my past, but instead helped me with everyday struggles that I faced. Guy has a gentle way in his approach to counselling. He has a way of making one feel comfortable and able to open up and to share the most painful experiences. I now understand more about myself and how to deal with my anxiety, more than ever before. I cannot thank her enough. I feel like I have improved unbelievable amounts, and if times get tough again, I would always go back to Jo for some guidance. My journey with Jo has helped me to develop a more peaceful mind.

Ailsa is observant, conscientious and easy to speak to. As a person with diagnosed chronic depression, I have had experience with roughly 10 talk therapists, and Ailsa's approach immediately put me at ease. I stress this because I have found it has helped me to quickly open up about my inner life and feel like progress is being made early on. Ailsa listens and remembers, and this is a quality that is surprisingly difficult to find in a therapist. She is able to thread together ideas and concepts from previous conversations, which has helped me develop a deeper understanding of my thought patterns and associated behaviours. I believe Ailsa genuinely cares about her clients and aims to help them succeed with kindness and without judgement. It is still early days in our therapy work, but I look forward to seeing even more benefits of our counselling sessions.

Vicky showed empathy, being easy to talk to and offering practical exercises and help. During the therapy, several situations arose which, without the sessions with Vicky, I cannot see how I would have coped as well as I did. Without the therapy, the last 6 or 7 months would have been very different.

I am a 21 year old guy, I had never talked to anyone about anything really before talking to Simon. I found it hard talking to anyone else but it was incredibly easy to talk about everything and anything with him. He helped me immensely, he moved mountains inside my head and I will be forever grateful to him and the techniques that he used. The space to talk was incredibly comfortable as well which I think does help a lot. My issues were due to quite severe anxiety and stress.

Wendy is absolutely fantastic. She’s empathetic, kind, understanding and impartial. Very easy to talk to and a pleasure to deal with. We have had individual sessions as well, as certain things came out of the couples sessions and this was a really nice way of getting to the core of certain issues. She is now ‘on call’ whenever we need her, just to have a chat or with any issues we need to resolve. Not pushy at all and she has a real passion to solve the issues at hand. We would 100% recommend her to anyone who wants help. A real pleasure to meet and deal with the issue at hand. We are now in a much better place and that’s thanks to Wendy.

Corina was always very open, and I especially appreciated that she never assumed anything (something I had found a problem with a therapist in the past). Her quality of listening and empathy allowed me to share more than I thought I could. She didn't judge or draw her own conclusions, but just reframed what I brought to the session so that I could get a new perspective on it. I always felt that she really understood what I was saying. Corina has a really broad knowledge of her field and different approaches - I was exploring meditation for the first time outside of the sessions and I found it inspiring to share this experience with her. I've found the effect of our sessions to be transformative especially of my close personal relationships, and self-esteem.

I have now had three counselling sessions with Cyrous and I’m going to have as many as it takes to help me with my anger issues. Carol has really helped me. The structure of her communication is clear and easy to follow. The exercises we have run through together in the sessions, as well as the 'homework' she set me are simple but powerful and I've seen real progress with my OCD and anxiety. Donna never pushes you to talk or pushes you to answer. For me it was about asking the right question so that the emotions just came flooding out. There was never a rush to talk and never a rush to talk about everything at once. Each week she would recap on the previous session and see how/if I felt better or worse, if anything had changed. She was also open to new issues and problems. She didn’t just focus on the issues, but on me and my life and how I needed to help myself too.

Christina has always been extremely supportive throughout my journey and very reassuring which has helped massively with my self-development. Her approach is very caring and she is very passionate about helping people through difficult times by using self-love techniques to grow self-esteem.
