Dr Payne is a knowledgeable therapist who helped me greatly in dealing with the abuse I experienced in my 13 year marriage which ended November 2022. I was thoroughly confused as to what had happened to me during this period. Dr Payne helped me come to terms with the signs of this abuse. At a time where I needed a professional to speak with, Dr Payne came through. I would have loved to have carried on with my therapy but personal circumstances (work etc) got in the way. Thanks so much for your help.

Dr is extremely easy to talk to. He shows empathy. He listens without judgement. He validates my feelings and empowers me to express my issues and to be vulnerable. He creates a safe environment. He is consistent and has a very even and approachable style. He gives me great book references and understands and supports my wish to get to a place where I can return to work after 5 years.

Dr Payne helped me explore and understand traumatic events in the past, to shed light on my behaviour in the present. From there I have found more about myself and my talents and feel happier, more secure and more resilient. Well worth it.

I have tried counselling previously but had never felt comfortable enough to open up. is very easy to talk to and creates an environment in which I felt safe and comfortable to talk. I went to with suspected BPD, but now it seems that it is PTSD. I have been going almost weekly for approx. 6 months now. He is helping me through an incredibly difficult period of my life and has given me the strength and motivation to keep going.

Our sessions helped me understand how to lead a more stable life, and he provided me with a variety of different methods to help with my treatment so that it was easier to find one that worked best for me. He helped me question my own thinking to change my negative behaviors and thoughts. I have seen therapists before, however I felt that my sessions with have been most effective in the treatment of my BPD. He was also supportive of my being a student and therefore was very flexible with the arrangements of our appointments.

John is very neutral and direct, which I like. His conduct is very professional so I felt comfortable quite quickly divulging personal details to him. He has shown me practical tools and strategies to help my anxiety and sleeplessness. We always discuss the issues I want to discuss and he's quick to direct me to solutions and ideas that help, as well as reading materials and other sources that are always spot on. is helping my self-esteem enormously as I am learning to be less self-critical and to utilise personality traits that I always thought were negative in a positive and constructive way. I would not hesitate to recommend to others.

John treats me as an individual and is not patronising in his manner. I feel that is compassionate, open minded and has more of a sense of humour than therapists I've seen previously. I would definitely recommend him.

So glad we found, my 17 year old daughter was suffering with terrible anxiety before she started her therapy sessions. She found that put her at her ease and very easy to talk to, after every session she would come out as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders. It's so lovely to have my daughter so relaxed, happy and with a much more positive outlook on life. I don't think we would have got this far so quickly if it wasn't for. I cannot thank enough for all his help and support, money well spent as far as we are concerned.

John is an incredibly understanding, helpful and thoughtful therapist. I was totally against the idea of ever speaking to anyone regarding the issues I have, but made it incredibly easy for me to open up about a number of problems. is non judgemental and guides me to resolve the issues in a calm and effective manner that suits me. He has worked wonders for my confidence and self esteem, helped with my lack of sleep and stress levels and I would highly recommend to anyone that is in need of therapy.

John's ability to reason with my emotions was exceptional, he was able to logically explain what I was going through from a psychological perspective, when I wasn't 100% sure myself. He gave me good advice, he taught me how to cope with my depression, gradually, as each week went on, I found as long as I followed his excellent advice, I'd begin to feel better than the week before. I can now honestly say, thanks to everything that has helped me with, I've never felt better, I owe this man a great thanks for all the help he has given me. I would be more than happy to recommend Dr Payne to anyone, friend, family or strangers, he has a lot of experience with his work, and he's clearly good at what he does.

John is a warm, friendly, kind person who makes you feel like you're opening up to a long standing friend. He is helping me work through childhood emotional neglect and sleep problems. I bounce out of our sessions feeling lighter and full of purpose. I no longer fear that I will always feel this way, I have hope that I can heal in time. He has helped me to understand the reasons why I feel the way I do and made me realise that I am not alone. I look forward to where this journey will take me and I am so glad that I have found to guide me along the way.
